Ritual Spirit Cursed

THE LEGEND Deep within an ancient forest, cult members stand in a clearing, hooded in black velvet robes. Their forms illuminated solely by the flickering light of a central burning pit of bones and skulls; sacrifices necessary to fuel a sinister ritual. United under the blood moon, they gather to summon a demonic entity that dwells below. The high priest, his authority unquestioned, pours a vial containing a potent draught into the raging fire. A serpentine hiss is released as the scorching flames consume the offering, enveloping the air in an enigmatic blend of smoke and rare spices. The nearby trees stir as if caught in a fearsome storm, and the atmosphere crackles with an oppressive heat. In solemn unison, they recite archaic chants from a forsaken text, their incantations serving to beckon the entity. The aromatic fog grows denser, awakening supernatural spirits slumbering within the forest's concealed recesses. The burning skulls within the fire tremble and shatter, birthing a towering inferno. From the smouldering remnants of the sacrificial cult members, the demon emerges. In a rush of darkness, it seizes possession of the willing cultists' bodies, contorting their limbs and contending their souls into puppets of evil. The demon revels in the physical realm, fuelled by a thirst for long-awaited revenge. For millennia, it had endured imprisonment, bound by sacred barriers. But now, with its summoning complete, it can finally unleash its wrath upon the world. Over time, the forest succumbs to impenetrable terror as the demon establishes dominance over its newfound realm. To this day, on the night of a blood moon, the lingering smoky scent of the ritual draught drifts through the ancient forest; to be taken as a warning to flee from the cursed land, or become another pawn in the demon's game.
